The beach at Achao! Beautiful views on a bright sunny day. As I was admiring said views I almost got startled to death when I casually turned my head and saw this enormous dog’s face a few centimeters away from my face. But as all the other many dogs wandering the streets in Chile, it was friendly and really only interested in my sandwich.

A few pictures from Chonchi, a town a half hour south of Castro. the man on the balcony was watching me taking pictures and started waving to me. There is also the view of Isla Lemuy opposite Chonchi and the colorful church dominating the skyline.
Torres del Paine!
Here are some pictures from my 4 day trek in Torres del Paine. Everyone I had met on my trip South was either coming or going to this park, the most popular one in Chile. Travelers ranted and raved about it, and it did not disappoint!

My pack was HEAVYYY! That first day was a little hard, but it got easier once the food started disappearing.

Here’s a picture of a cool big rock that I had to include for all the geology nerds out there. Look at those folds!
On the way to glacier Grey!

The mirador over glacier Grey. So windy!
We spent two nights at the free campamiento Italiano. It is one of the only free campsites on the W and the trees were great protection from the wind. Also, the bridges in the park were really sketchy. Only a maximum of two people could be on this one…
The views on the way up the valle Frances, the highlight of the W trek. We had the greatest luck with the weather!

Me and my hiking buddies at the top of la valle de Frances!
